Grindelwald Adventure Park: Go-Carts, Scooters, and Cowbells
July 25, 2026 — 2019 Travel Journal — Page 1
Heyyy, it’s me — BeSeeingTheWorldYo! So I’ve got two friends heading to Europe this month for weddings, then heading to Switzerland after — and wow is it taking me back to 2019. Because back then I did the same thing. That’s how I landed in Grindelwald, a Swiss alpine town that also happens to be home to the Grindelwald adventure park.
Plus, I just revamped my blog and it’s ready for a little BeTravelingThroughTimeYo action. So let me rewind to one of the most fun days I’ve ever had traveling. 2019, here we come. (I know, I know — nearly a decade. HOW.)
Mountain Carts in the Rain — Sketchy AF But Fun
Having the time of my life.
The cool thing about the Grindelwald First adventure park is that you take a gondola up the mountain, then get to pick your own adventure for how you make it back down.
My favorite? The Mountain Carts — basically tricycles without pedals. We rode them down in a steady drizzle, in clear plastic ponchos that did absolutely nothing for my photo game.
Mid-cart, fully committed.I have never been happier in a piece of dollar-store plastic.
Justin really put his Mario Kart skills to the test — skidding around every corner with extra slide from the slick roads. Me? Not so much. I took my time and soaked up the views.
Then Came the Trottibikes
Awkwardly figuring out the Trottibike.
Next up was the Trottibikes, scooter-bike hybrids. Back then city scooters weren’t a thing yet, so I felt tense riding down the mountain on the sketchy slick roads.
Beautiful views the whole way down
Gondolas vanishing into the mist. So Switzerland.Stopped to take in the serene landscape. The view from the trail down.Just a casual glacier.Postcard mode: engaged.
On the Way — The Cows.
To make it really feel like you’ve transported straight into the Alps, we heard cowbells jingling all the way. Perhaps Happy Cows live in Switzerland.
Brittany and the cows. Her name is whatever I decide it is.
The Cliff Walk — Not for the Faint of Heart
Now, I don’t have a major fear of heights, but there are a few times when I feel weak at the knees. This Cliff Walk brought it out in me. My normal tendency is to throw my arms out for photos — not this time. I’ll let Justin do that.
“Smile!” she said, knees fully shaking.Fearless Justin, mid-suspension bridge.
Grindelwald, the Rest of It
The adventure park is the main event, but we spent the rest of the time slowly walking the village and I’d do that part over again in a heartbeat.
Wine & charcuterie for the win.
2019 me: standing proud with my OG trail runners.Back when he was just my boyfriend.
Pro Tip
Grindelwald is worth the trip. If you’re heading to Switzerland and you like adventure, go. I still think about this day. It’s easily one of the coolest travel experiences I’ve had.
And yes — this whole day was a blip on my 2019 Euro Trip, but it still stands out as one of the coolest travel experiences. The full route: Mallorca → Barcelona → Cadaqués for the wedding → Zurich → Zermatt → Interlaken → Grindelwald → Munich for Oktoberfest. Which one should I write up next — Zermatt, Munich for Oktoberfest, or the Barcelona wedding? Let me know on socials. Comments are off, but the DMs are always open.
Catch you on the next adventure, World Yo Fam! You know I’ll Be Seeing You around!
