Uco Valley – Mendoza, Argentina

Day 2: O. Fourneir & Adeluna Bodegas- Valley de Uco:

As I mentioned on Trip Advisor, I thought O. Fourneir Bodega was beautiful. They had large oak barrels and used gravity instead of presses to make their wine.A German Artists came in and painted two of the stainless steal tanks. The different set of eyes are for your first taste of wine, 2nd glass, and the full bottle.

Apparnetly O. Fourneir has the largest cellar in Latin America. It would be better if they actually used it vs. only about 15% of the capacity. The cellar was still cool and decorated with artwork. We then enjoyed a tasting of 4 wines. The tasting fee was waived after our wine purchases.

I enjoyed this winery, yet after trying some of the wines and meeting the other wine enthusiasts in the area, I was not so impressed.

Now, Adeluna Bodega was a different story. This one you will find in several blog posts as a must go to in Mendoza. While we made the reservation on Facebook, which was later confirmed, the winery did not have our reservation. We were still allowed to be wined & dined.

We enjoyed a 6 course meal and wine pairing. It was absolutely lovely. The wine was fantastic as well. After the meal, we made our way to the bar to try a few other wines my boyfriend was interested in. We ended up spending all afternoon there talking and drinking yerba mate tea with the employees.

Since my boyfriend was driving, I was receiving 1.5x the tastings because he would give me half if not more of his glass. It was actually quite funny to see how many times he would get a refill after giving me his pour. To be frank, I was good & drunk by 4PM that day 🙂

I slept nearly the entire way back as my boyfriend drove us through a rai
