San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

San Pedro de Atacama, Chile is a dusty town located in the Andes mountains of northeastern Chile. It’s surrouding landscape incorporates desert, salt flats, volcanoes, geysers and hot springs. Similar to Pucón, Chile, this is an adventure town with plenty of activities to offer. We enjoyed one day here before starting our 3 day salt flat tour in Bolivia, which is conveniently located a few kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama

We stayed in a tent at the Aji Verde Hostel. It made the list of interesting places we stayed at together on our trip.

We rented bikes from our hostel and made our way to the Valle de Luna (i.e. Moon Valley), which is known for the moon like landscape. We estimate biking for ~25-40 kilometers that day. It was beautiful and a great activity to do in the afternoon!
