LiveFromTheWorldYo: Wailea, Maui Luxe Chill and Turtle Thrills
Hey, it’s me, BeSeeingTheWorldYo — blogging live from Wailea, Maui, where my babymoon kicked off in full luxury mode. For almost a week, I stayed at one of the fanciest resorts I’ve ever experienced, the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, by Hyatt: multiple infinity pools overlooking the ocean, farm‑to‑table spots around every corner, and a whole lineup of complimentary activities. Because this trip was all about relaxing before baby, we skipped most of the “go, go, go” options and leaned hard into mellow vacation magic, even while Adventurous Brittany low‑key envied the kayakers and outrigger crews gliding across the Pacific.

I soaked up every slow morning and lazy afternoon — letting Justin sleep in as long as he wanted and really savoring the calm before the storm (aka parenthood). On our first day, I woke up reasonably early due to the two‑hour time change, hit the hotel buffet, then headed back to the room with about an hour to spare before my prenatal massage (much needed after traveling). I decided I had just enough time for a nap and crawled back into bed. Justin briefly woke up, saw me asleep at 11 a.m., assumed it was still “early,” and went right back to sleep! This proves island time truly hits different.

The best moment, though, came with a little adventure: snorkeling at Molokini and Turtle Town. We chose the only not‑too‑early morning catamaran tour because neither of us was trying to greet the sunrise on our babymoon, then cruised out to the crater to snorkel in insanely clear water before heading to see turtles. The absolute magic occurred when I got to swim with sea turtles gliding near us in the water. Then, as we enjoyed our lunch on the boat, more turtles swam right up to us and under the nets on our boat. I was fully living out my “swim with turtles” dream.

Another highlight was casually exploring the Shops at Wailea and strolling home. Wailea spoiled us with calm, golden mornings, breezy afternoons, and even a few rainbows — with almost no actual rain while we were there. Every day felt slow and sweet, full of fruit mocktails, ocean air, and island‑dream energy, exactly the kind of babymoon reset we needed before jumping into whatever comes next as future parents.
